With tomorrow’s LAUSD’s vote on Student Centered Funding we need parents to call the board and make our voice loud that we do not want Student Centered Funding!

Public education decentralization schemes like SCF/SBB are meant to dismantle the monitoring & compliance structures responsible for the oversight of public $$$. Privatizers are not shy about the intention.

Felicidad, Monroe parent of a student with special needs. “It threatens everything that makes our school work. Title I programs would be at risk. My child is NOT A BACKPACK OF CASH. My child and every student deserves a well funded school.”

Cutting $1.25 million from Monroe HS isn’t equity! Our schools need funding and resources, not budget cuts. , support your community and vote NO on SCF.

Student at Monroe HS asking to vote NO on SCF. Under SCF schools will be forced to compete for students, w/losers losing funding. I want all schools to be properly funded, instead of schools having to battle for survival. We’re students, not dollars.

SCF, LAUSD’s new funding scheme, would cut $1.2 million a year from Monroe HS, and millions more from LAUSD public schools. Join Monroe students, parents, and teachers and tell your Board Member to vote NO on SCF: 🔗 More:

Reject SCF: “We’re students, not dollars” Monroe High, a beloved neighborhood public school in Gonez’s district, stands to lose $1.2 million in funding for students each year if the district converts its budgeting to SCF. Vote NO on SCF!

Friendly reminder that millionaire DeVos, aka the worst Secretary of education in the history of ever, was appointed by Trump, hates public schools, and undermined students civil rights. So why is LAUSD trying to adopt her funding scheme?

In Denver, same story. Rob Gould, President of Denver Classroom Teachers' Association told me they've had schools without nurses in a pandemic. That experienced teachers have jumped ship because they afford the cost of living with slashed salaries. That teacher turnover was 20%

New story: LAUSD wants to switch to Student Centered Funding, in which schools get funded BY their students, not for them. Each student has a price. Schools must compete for students to get their funding. Anti-charter ppl **very** worried. 🧵
