Don’t think I’ve ever shared this before.
GoPro frame grab from the Ashby, MN EF4. A rare look at the whole meso of this storm as the tornado was reaching peak intensity! What a freakin incredible day this was.

That storm yesterday had the most insane CG's that Ive seen in a while! The one on the upper left hit no more than 200ft away next 2 me with smoke visible!
I had afew close strikes that were picked up on my cars bluetooth with a blaze of static that would fill my speakers! #mnwx

My #tornado shelter map I started last year has now had over 24,000 views. I've been slowly adding more as I find more. Hopefully before the fall severe weather season it will get expanded more. I've received good reviews about it.

Last nights storm structure near Chambers, NE! Towards the end of the cells life she got pretty! Good lightning bolts to illuminate the structure were few & far between. Still managed to get a few though!

The Gaylord tornado yesterday first deadly tornado in Michigan since 2007. The first EF3+ tornado in Northern MI since 1991. The last time a tornado killed 2+ people in Michigan was 1980.

Train an algorithm w/ video recorded under known conditions. Develop a debris pattern database that computer vision can compare to crowd-sourced #tornado footage. Mix in debris-flight models. Save lives.

While we’re at it, given it’s the anniversary in 4 hours, here’s another one from the archives I’ve never shared. The 20 May 2013 Moore, OK tornado from PX-1000 at 20-s temporal res and plotted with roads/zoom. Note the loop at I35 that was discovered with these data.
