    Last year took a huge step in the direction of justice when we restored the right to vote to 1.4M former, non-violent felons. The will encourages states to notify these individuals of their right to vote.

    Men & women like my friend marched for equality & the voting rights of black & brown communities throughout our nation & were met with hate & violence on . We have made strides thanks to their , but there’s so much more that we can do.

    54 years ago today, we were beaten, tear gassed, trampled by horses, and left bloody on that bridge in Selma. But we cannot rest. We cannot become weary. We must honor those who gave their lives for the right to vote. We must continue to find a way to get in the way.

    My amendment that closes the loophole that allows ex-lawmakers hoard & spend campaign donations for decades was just adopted on a bipartisan vote. It will be included in the being voted on tomorrow!

    This study shows one of the ways that the climate crisis is already impacting the lives of Americans across the country. Our inaction has a high cost that is growing daily. We must do more to protect our communities and transition to a net-zero emissions economy.

    From 2005 to 2017, 17 states lost nearly $16 billion in property value due to coastal flooding. Ocean City and Miami Beach top the list of cities that lost the most by dollar value. Smaller, less wealthy areas are also getting hit hard.
