Children are drinking water with lead. Millions are struggling to pay water bills. We can’t ignore this crisis. That’s why we advanced the Act w/ $30B to replace lead service lines in drinking water systems + $500M so low-income communities can access water.

HBCUs have a unique history of overcoming systemic challenges and providing an unequalled return on investment. The best way the Act can invest in higher education is to invest in .

Meme Text: The incredible success of HBCUs has been achieved despite over a century of systemic underfunding at both the state and federal levels.

  5. Where’s the “urgency” for a package that funds aggressive climate action?

The Biden Administration is defending Texans affected by the abortion ban in the courtroom, and we must defend them here in Congress. Urged our Committee to reject another amendment to further limit reproductive freedoms:

  7. We cannot limit the funding delivered to our communities so that corporations and billionaires can keep getting richer. Building Back Better means taxing the wealthy and corporations, and giving working families the support they need to get back on their feet.

The U.S. government currently gives Big Oil and Gas more than $20.5 billion a year through tax breaks. It is past time we stop rewarding polluters for poisoning our communities and accelerating the climate crisis. To Build Back Better, we need to end fossil fuel subsidies.

Why wouldn’t we make the expanded and improved Child Tax Credit permanent after bearing witness to all the progress we have felt in just three short months? Permanency is what our economy needs and what voters want.

The pandemic isn't over, and people are still struggling to make ends meet. These benefits should have never been allowed to lapse — but this is our chance to make it right. I'm proud to co-sponsor 's bill to extend unemployment insurance through February 2022.

As part of the Build Back Better budget, Medicare should be able to negotiate drug prices. This would: 💰 Save $600B in taxpayer dollars 💊 Lower the cost of prescription drugs 🔬 Allow our health agencies to spend more money on research

We’re introducing a bill to extend all federal pandemic unemployment insurance through Feb. 1. Benefits would be retroactive to Sep. 6. We can’t let pandemic unemployment assistance lapse when we’re still recovering from the cost effects of the pandemic.

Americans pay more for prescription drugs than those in ANY other country. These prices force people to spend money they don’t have, or ration or go without drugs they need to stay alive. Enough is enough. We need to lower drug costs in the Build Back Better Act.
