Button cell batteries can be deadly for young children if they are ingested. Check your children’s toys, light-up tutus, garments, and costumes to ensure that they require a tool, such as a screwdriver, to open and that they are secured properly.

Also check your pets toys and anything that they may get into in their environment with batteries. Dispose of hearing aid batteries outside, not in garbages in reach of pets. Seek immediate veterinary care if you suspect they may have ingested a button battery.
