    Incredible work by Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod and Coast Guard Station Moriches removing this 3,200-lb light tower! The tower was cut in half for transport after collapsing last month at Cedar Island County Park in East Hampton, NY. BZ shipmates!

    The niece of Coast Guard WWI veteran John Healy was presented the Purple Heart at Sector New York Sunday for his death in the line of duty aboard the Cutter Tampa Sept. 26, 1918. Healy was one of 130 Tampa crew members killed after a torpedo strike.
