One of the aspects of border security that often goes unnoticed but happens daily, are rescues to assist those in need along the border. An agent in RGV Sector carried a man to safety after falling from a cliff. Keep up the good work!

While mustering up with the men and women of the Laredo South and Zapata station in Laredo sector, I had the opportunity to congratulate Special Operations Supervisor Sandoval on his retirement and present Chief Hudak with his Wall Commission.

Creating and maintaining relationships with our local partners is key to the success of our mission. Today, I met with Val Verde County Judge Lewis Owens to discuss our border strategy and our path going forward.

I had the pleasure of visiting the men and women of Laredo Sector at the Laredo North Station. At muster, I was able to have a one-on-one conversation with the agents and support staff that are doing extraordinary work every day.

While visiting the border in Del Rio Sector today, I had the honor of visiting front-line agents at muster. These agents are giving 100% every day to ensure the safety of migrants and the American people.

Ramey sector continues to leverage strong relationships with state and local partners which leads to incredible narcotics seizures. Over the last three days, Ramey Sector has seized over 2,000 lbs. of cocaine. Amazing work!

Over the weekend in separate and unrelated incidents, the USBP tragically had two line-of-duty deaths. BPA Edgardo Acosta-Feliciano of El Paso Sector entered on duty on 7/3/06. SBPA Daniel Cox of Tucson Sector entered on duty on 7/28/97. They will never be forgotten.

Thank you to all USBP agents for long hours worked & being detailed away from family & friends. Thank you also to our partners who are helping USBP manage the large volumes of people encountered along the southwest border.

The number of rescues USBP agents perform is increasing. Watch as Tucson Sector BORSTAR agents rescue a woman in distress. Another life saved.

A migrant was lost for two days in the desert. A team consisting of El Paso and Big Bend station agents, AMO, and the local sheriff’s office located and rescued the subject! Great work by this multi-agency team!

It only means so much to hear it from us.  This message is from a man the rescued after he illegally crossed the border– he sent it to thank the agents who rescued him from Otay Mountain, and to hopefully discourage others from putting themselves in harm’s way.
