  1. JOBS UP BIG! +312,000. RECORD NUMBER WORKING. MANUFACTURING BEST IN 20 YEARS. A great economic outlook is great for law enforcement, public safety, and pushing down crime.

  2. Significantly more teens are using concentrated forms of marijuana that have unprecedented levels of THC. In 2017 over 1/3 of Colorado high school marijuana users consumed highly potent, distilled THC concentrates in a given month.

  3. These days in Colorado's commercial recreational market we're seeing marijuana rectal and vaginal suppositories, inhalers that look like asthma relief medicine, camouflaged electronic vape devices, odorless powders and marijuana-infused drinks and foods.

  4. MASSIVE POTENCY! Colorado's radically new, ultra-potent marijuana products bear little or no resemblance to the pot today's parents recall from their youth. EXTREMELY POTENT. Not debatable. Just a fact.

  6. CBD products remain illegal and are an increasing problem and puts public at risk because products have not been proven safe or effective. Health claims, proper labeling & warnings critical for public safety like all other products. SERIOUS ISSUE.

  7. So far this year, 144 federal, state and local law enforcement officers have died in line of duty- more officers than almost all WV cities including Huntington. Duty driven officers & their families deserve respect, appreciation for their selfless service.

  8. According to FBI NIBR System, violent crime incidents in Colorado increased by 26.59% from 2014 to 2017. Some tout imaginary numbers to claim violent crime in CO is down but the FBI system tells far different story. We need to learn all we can- good and bad- from CO experiment.

  9. ‘‘Twas the night before Christmas & all through the House, not a creature was stirring except for the heroes of law enforcement and 1st responders who were still serving the public.” Thank you to the good men & women of duty who serve us every day of the year! Merry Christmas!

  10. Gazette article on hemp “inaccurate and incomplete.” Hemp industry can potentially be good industry for WV but hemp producers, like all other industries, must follow law & regs. Before hemp grows, states must submit plan & make certifications to USDA. It’s all in the Farm Bill.

  11. Huntington crime numbers moving dramatically in right direction. How? Partnerships, teamwork & aggressively efforts. It has been an amazing, historic 2018 for law enforcement.

  12. Most wonderful time of the year for many. A painful time of year for others. 1,011 souls lost in WV last year to overdose. If you need help, call 844-HELP4WV.

  13. Under Farm Bill, states must submit oversight plan to USDA & be approved. Kentucky submitted plan DAYS AGO. Requires strict oversight/enforcement. Lax oversight won’t work. Industry regulated like ALL OTHER industries. Kentucky smart to submit quickly.

  14. Shutdown has NO EFFECT on public safety and law enforcement functions. My office continues to have the back of heroic law enforcement and the public.

  15. Hoping to have opportunity to shut down this “criminal enterprise.” We welcome tourists from Detroit but drug thugs, dealers & career criminals need to stay out of SDWV or face tough, tough consequences and as much “time” as I can get them.

  17. Too much elbow room! WV one of two states to lose population over last decade. It is THE most significant issue facing us in WV. Economic AND population growth CRITICAL! Time for long-term strategic planning & “swing for the fences.” We can do this!

  18. Prison, restitution & forfeiture! Scheme involving arson, mail fraud, wire fraud & money laundering for purpose of fraudulently obtaining money on houses THEY set on fire. TERRIBLE STUFF but “ACCOUNTABILITY” is their word of the day.

  19. Farm Bill sets regulatory requirements states must meet to win USDA approval for hemp. Background checks, licensing, inspections, THC testing, etc. - the very things the WVDA was not doing adequately pursuant to its existing pilot program.
