Gahs and his fellow infantrymen faced down the German counteroffensive near Strausburg, France. Known as Operation Nordwind, the offensive was launched in conjunction with the Battle of the Bulge further north in the Ardennes.

Lockered "Bud" Gahs was drafted into service in 1943 and served in the anti-tank company of the 222nd Infantry. As a truck driver, it was his job to maneuver the guns into position.

Before he knew it, Bergevine was disassembling an ETWD and taking measurements of the screen which would need to be replaced. He digitized the measurements into a digital modeling program, creating blueprints which were then turned into 3D computer-aided design files.

Cadets from Tombstone High School’s Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps learned how to read a map during a training event at Fort Huachuca Dec. 6. The training not only benefited the cadets, but also helped evaluate the NCOs ability to instruct warrior tasks and battle drills. (Amy Stork)
