Have we gone nuts? Have our morals fallen away? Where is our compassion, our empathy? Children need their parents. For real. Parents need their children. Truly.

Are you suggesting we deported her children as well?? Because you don’t want to also sound equally terrible and say it’s ok for people to illegally stay in any country.

Separating parents by returning them to another nation makes zero sense. It ruins lives. I am not suggesting deporting Americans. Goodness knows that is bad idea. And wrong. Why not preserve family? Isn’t that a universal value?

Well the problem here is that being in the United States illegally is a serious crime. How should we handle it? Because punishment in some form must happen. I mean, knowingly starting and keeping a family in a place you are illegally is your own fault. Deportation was known risk

It is a conundrum. I agree. But might we deal with situations case by case not enough masse. Might we discover special circumstances? Other caregivers in US? Rape in home nation or abuse? Children w/ special needs? Kids above or below certain age?

All these things sound like reasons Sweden let people in and now they have very real and legitimate ghettos/no go areas. I understand that breaking up a family is incredibly terrible. My father left to go start another family, so I get it. But if you let this happen....

I’m Canadian. Each country has its own immigration rules. I have a friend who legally went through process, from Mexico. I agree with rules. You cheat them, you should not be rewarded. Wish our Prime Minuster would follow our rules

So we should feel sorry for her? She came here illegally and started a family! That's on her that her kids are now devastated!!! Why come all the way here to seek asylum? She lived in Europe... Should have gone to Germany, they would have welcomed her with open arms!

This is sad but you shouldnt come over here undocumented and just go ahead and start a family. They want to make themselves look like the victims because theres kids involved. Well theres kids cause she chose to have kids while her status in this country wasnt a sure thing.

I too wanted to live here but I followed the rules. Stood in endless lines at the consulate and paid my fees!!! I even joined to U.S. Army to earn my right to be here. So, no I don't feel sorry for her.
