I don't know about lava damage, but earthquakes are another hazard, even on the mainland, that aren't covered under standard homeowners insurance. A separate policy is necessary. It's usually pretty cheap, but it has a higher deductible than other kinds of losses.

Depends. if you haven't bought insurance yet then yes, absolutely 100% of course you'll be covered if you buy the policy before 11:59pm today. If you've already bought the insurance, then no, we're sorry but that's not part of coverage.
