In about 3 weeks they are going to go on a 3 month paid vacation.

I used to think that too, until I married a teacher. Unfortunately he works during the summer tutoring and also being a coach, he has summer practices. He at least gets a few weeks off during the summer to spend time with family.

I’m just saying, most teachers aren’t overpaid. And their pension benefits and schedule make up for it

Agree with you. It’s just for the most part our educators don’t have a voice and are totally underpaid. And yes, in someways at the end of your 30+ years as an educator you have a great pension. But in the State of Mississippi they removed some of the pension benefits :(

What about volunteer educators, scoutmasters, den mothers, junior achievement, endless STEM volunteers, homeschoolers, etc? Those arent even paid positions.

It’d also be nice if businesses didn’t lean on communities to give them tax breaks to locate there. The tax base pays for teachers & schools - all year round, not just for one week.
