I was called a "policeman" hundreds of times and it did not affect the job I did. I'd rather see tougher sentances for people who hurt us.

I spent a great deal of time in my career worrying about whether I was called a policeman or police woman. There were many other words used to describe me and my profession that often began with 4 letter words but they were of no concern compared to gender identification.

PS - Police Officer is fine with me. It is slightly more respectful than f’ing pig, you http://pr.ck , SOB, co.ksucker, mofo and other professionally enduring kindnesses. I didn’t even mind the media using the word “cop” if they did so without spitting.

I’m willing to bet serious coin that those serving who are “Women,” don’t really give a rat’s ass one way or another. It’s always someone else not even affected who get butt hurt over this trivial stuff.

Wo(man) To say policeman, or fireman is gender specific, is reaching. Maybe we should stop saying woman as well. Y'all getting worked up over the stuff that really matters, huh

What? A man is a man, and an officer is an officer. We are making this way to complicated.

It's about time this happened. If it's decided that "police officer" and "fire fighter" are too controversial, then I suggest we go with "policewoman" and "firewoman" for all for the next 100 years. Equal time, you know?
