People from mainland China are supportive of Keziah Daum's use of the traditional cheongsam, or qipao, which drew an uproar when she posted a photo of her red dress on Twitter last month.http://usat.ly/2HLBlxQ

Wait, wasn’t it a chinese who didn’t like it in the first place? So one chinese is more creditable then another?

It was a kid living in America with Chinese heritage. Also a kid with racist-tinged tweets. So asking actual Chinese people in China is what they’re talking about here I believe.

Yeah but I mean, Chinese think it’s okay to eat dog and to do other things we don’t agree with so why are they taking their opinion? I’m literally confused as to how this became news in the first place lol

Like I can understand if she was making Asians eyes and the monk pose isn’t helping but it just seems like an Americanized dress style like kendrick in humble.

They could care less. The only people who are 'outraged' are the ones trying to accumulate 'clicks' on their sites...

And there you have it America! There are far too many people that are truly unjustifiably offended by absolutely everything. If the Chinese are fine with her dress, wth is your problem?! Please seek mental help for your extreme sensitivity disorder. ✌️

I think only one out of million Chinese don’t like this. All others think Keziah is beautiful in Qipao.

I loved the comment in the article that it was not cultural appropriation, but rather cultural appreciation.

OK. Normally this would have rolled off the news cycle by now. But I'm guessing someone at USA Today has an issue with her and doesn't want to let it drop - hence, the however many times they've rewritten and pushed this out.....

People in China are more than fine with her wearing it. Some want her to be invited to China and show off the dress. But meanwhile in the US of A, things are a hateful shit show as usual.
