No need to shorten the baseball season. Spring weather issues can be minimized by scheduling the northern, open stadium teams (MIN, CLE, DET, etc.) to play their first several series in April on the road in the south (HOU, ATL, TX, MIA, TB) and west (LA, SD, AZ).

While baseball is the only sport I really like, and I miss it when it's gone, I have been saying for years that the season is just TOO DAMNED LONG! (And so are the games, which they're...ineffectively...trying to change.)
