If he was white, he would have offered him a ride to school plus stopping at Burger King while on the way.

I'm in Canada and live at the top of a toboggan hill. Pre cell phones I used to get all kinds of kids knocking on my door asking could they call their moms to pick them up. It would make my day to be able to help them.

Glad the kid is okay but imagine if he wasn’t. Not only would the kid be dead but this man would have made him out to be a burglar and we would have never heard the victims side of the story. Thank god for that security system, not what the man had intended but it did it’s job.

This also means that if it weren’t for that security camera the cops might have thought the kid was a burglar. I mean there wouldn’t be any proof but that hasn’t stopped police before. How do you prove you’re not a burglar? I guess we can’t knock on peoples houses anymore.

Glad the kid's okay, but unfortunately this will likely impact the rest of his life emotionally and developmentally. Throw the book at that guy.

Exactly, if he was that worried about a possible burglar, he simply could have chosen to not answer the door.

No child should ever suffer what this kid has been through. Life in prison is not long enough for what this man and his wife have done to this young boy. #DetroitRacism

This kid is not ok! Just because he's not severely injured or dead doesn't mean he's ok. Nor should he be. The person who shot at him shouldn't be ok either. He should be in jail and lose his gun license for a while. Shooting children isn't ever ok. We've got to be better 😒😒😒

The wife escalated the matter, which caused the husband to overreact. Bottom line: He'll rightfully get at least five-10 years for attempted murder

So let’s us play this out. A white kid knocked on the door. He would have opened the door and perhaps offering him something to eat and let him called his mom. Dylan Roof massacred people and as cops approached him they put their guns away and got him something to eat. Two 🌎
