The claims he took a spot from another kid by applying to 20 are hilarious. So offended* while revealing that they did not attend college and don't know how admissions work. His 19 unused spots will go to another kid. *offended by a black kid with a 4.86 GPA but love DJT

Which is why they are offended by this intelligent young man. I hope he has his voters registration form ready.

This kid worked his tail off. It's so damn hard to get into colleges this day. They should be applauding his efforts. I know I do. My son applied to three and each of those took a great deal of time. This kid deserves every kudos he can get.

America's new weird obsession with shaming people for valuing a deeper sense of knowledge and education because they disagree with the fact that their own ambitions aren't as high comes plainly out of contempt and jealousy for seeing certain people do better than them. #DoBetter

No you're missing the point... 35% of the country views attainment of higher education orambitious goals as trying to achieve the most/have options, as elitest because they themselves don't have the motivation to do the same. and that's fine. just stop hating on others that do.

And many of that same 35% think the phrase "liberal education" means the schools/colleges are trying to turn people into liberals...lol.

@TempleUniv awarded me McNair Fellowship, which prepares students 4 grad school. 1 perk is that it pays 4 all grad school applications. I applied to 15 Univ’s, was accepted w/full ride grad fellowships by 14, including 1 Ivy. Chose @waynestate. Thanks TU & Ron McNaiir (RIP)!

I finished my PhD in 2009 & am now a tenured prof of African Diasporic Literature. Temple & Wayne State saved my life, changed my life, & with 11 years of FT coursework their gracious gave me the skills 2 help others every day. Nothing wrong with applying 2 a lot of schools😊

I shouldn't be, but I'm AMAZED by how threatened people feel by motivated, smart, strong POC. Their just plain terrified. I WISH I had half the GPA and motivation this young man has.

So true! Nothing motivates better than fear. See the rise of the tea party! In turn, I am currently terrified that the GOP has given so much power & normalcy to white supremacists & Neo Nazis! I also feel threatened by their push toward fascism! See the blue wave rising!

I was really shocked to see people who agreed that the kid shouldn’t have applied.... really? I kinda think it’s his choice along with his parents. How ridiculous to argue otherwise. I’d argue that they are just sour grapes. So disappointed in what our country has become.pic.twitter.com/sk8K6Romid

The Fox spin was basically to say "uppity n*gger." (No, I'm not going to apologize for using that particular awful word in this case because it exactly is what Fox is saying) This CAN NOT be tolerated in The United States today!
