When is MLB finally going to ban "aggressive" slides into second base? Make all excuses players want to about it being valid baseball play, coming into second base with front legs raised ABOVE the bag, spikes forward is meant only to threaten & maim, to scare off infielders. cont

Never have had problems with slides designed to "break up" double plays, that's like legal hockey body check. Intentionally missing bag with lead leg and driving spikes into infielder's calf (or thigh) is like using hockey skates to attempt to cripple an opponent. (Manny Machado)
