Holy crap, I think most normal drivers would've hit her. Just sauntering across the street at night in an unlit area with traffic? Anyone else feel like that was a bad move on the pedestrian's part?

Very bad move on the pedestrian's part, but more importantly, the driver looked down twice for at least five seconds each time -- seriously effecting her reaction time. She relied too heavily on the car being autonomous...

Ya, but even if they weren't looking down, with such poor lighting, they had practically no time at all to react. I don't know if the person expected them to see them and slow down or what, but as a ped, drivers can't see you at night... I think a lot of people forget that...

It's not poorly lit. I'm a born and bread Phoenician. Considering the driver was looking down (I'm assuming at her phone), I'm to assume she constantly looked down throughout her shift. I do, think, however, the poor woman didn't have a chance. RIP.
