They’ll probably smoke more until they get desired kick. Always thought nicotine wasn’t as harmful as all the other additives? Probably good for cig companies.

And, stop trying to hand the vaping industry over to big tobacco by over regulation.

Most of smoking is psychological. Their opiate market pull worked so well, why not give this a try? At least this move won't kill people like last time. 🤔🖕

Or... it can drive smokers to smoke more cigarettes to get the same level of nicotine, ingesting more tar in the process, which is the actual harmful component, not nicotine.

Nicotine by itself is not dangerous in the least. It is mostly the chemicals that the government REQUIRED to be in cigarettes since the early 70's. Only one single component has ever had an established link to cancer, and it is a chemical the gov demanded

be put in them to prevent fires. Tar does line and damage the lungs, however. This is mostly from the burning of binders in cigarettes (used to clump the tobacco together.)

So steal the ideas behind vaping but ensure smokers still have all the chances to get cancer and die while trying to quit. Or... we could encourage smokers to taper their nicotine gradually by vaping, which is 95% safer than smoking and gets rid of all the carcinogens!

Not true. There are addicting additives other than nicotine in there. Each person has their own way of weening off of cigarettes. It was easier for me to swap from high nicotine to low on an e-cig, but unnatural substances oftentimes amplifies the toxicity.
