Yes. Your choice! I’d think teaching is more for the joys of furthering the children not for an exceptional pay. Everyone needs their 15 minutes
. Don’t like it, QUIT!

This "you owe it to us because you have a caring heart" crap is how traditionally female professions are kept low pay and it needs to STOP. As for your "Don't like it, QUIT!" Be glad we don't next time you're in the hospital. Grossly underpaid women work there too, 24/7/365.

Load of garbage. Equal opportunity does not mean equal outcome.

Welcome to teaching...also, please stay late and tutor those falling behind, take home hours of grading, come back tonight for parents night.(only 1 or 2 will show) dress professionally, and buy more pencils, paper ,ruler, glue sticks, and tissues at the Dollar Tree on Sat.

-
They choose to purchase those items. They started this trend.
-
Obviously not a teacher, huh? Duh...yeah. Next time you go to the dentist for a root canal, bring your own cap..they ran out last August.

Yes teachers should make more, but shouldn't someone look up how much their career choice is going to offer before accepting? If I study painting techniques, I won't be upset knowing I make a smaller salary. Gotta factor in comp benefits too. Teachers get summers off/pension

Didn't she know what it paid before/during college?
-
Ha! Exactly. It's like they know what it pays, then they whine about it once they start working. Good luck finding a better job that has the same pension.
-
My state doesn’t have a pension, but funds that WE pay into. It has changed since I became a teacher. We no longer have a livable retirement fund. We also are not eligible for Social Security. It’s also a profession in which everyone thinks they are an expert. The more you know.
-
So then find a better job? That's what I do if my job sucks. Mcdonalds has health care and retirement.
-
What do you think would happen if all teachers decided to leave the profession?
-
There would be no more people whining about how they should be paid the most. Next question

-
And we’d devolve into an uneducated third world nation.

Yep. Sad. Oh, and by the way, some would also like you to be a trained killer...same pay though.

You can't get rich being a
#teacher, but you certainly should make more for such an important function and mission toward bringing up the next generationThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

What about her benefits package? Health insurance? Retirement? If I was a parent of one of her students, I'd take a little walk over to the BOE and make a little noise. If she wants to be wealthy, teaching is not for her.
