What is an 'assault weapon'? The definition is actually highly contentioushttps://usat.ly/2GPAYNQ

Assault-weapon is a made up term. It’s not a legitimate classification of weapon. It’s a fabricated term used to frighten people in to supporting gun control legislation.

My rifles will assault nobody. Unless you try to violate my personal Liberty or that of my families. Maybe they should be called situational rifles??

That’s bc it’s a made up term. Assault is an action. A weapon is used to support that action so any weapon is an assault weapon. That’s why sexual assault is when you assault someone in a sexual nature

Semi auto rifles are assault rifles. Rimfire categories/ shotguns/ handguns, All fine. No modifications for rate of fire, no high capacity magazines for anything.

Assault rifles are fully automatic rifles. "Assault weapon" is a made up term. Many hunting rifles are semi auto.

This has never been true. We have had limitations on weapons for a very very long time and this has never been true. The argument is simply are semi auto assault rifles too much considering their prominence in so many horrific shootings.

The number of murders by semi-auto rifles is insignificant. By far, more murders are with a pistol. This attempt to gun grab is about controlling the people. The purpose of the 2A is to prevent tyranny (militia). These “common sense” limitations are a violation of our rights.

We already regulate weapons. No one complains (well no sane people) argue automatic weapons should be made available to the general public. The argument is simply whether at-15’s and the like are too deadly and should be regulated as well. Period.

Your wanting for gun control has nothing to do with saving lives. You despise the type of people who believe in gun rights. If not, you would be willing to protect schools.

If it can kill multiple children at a time it’s an “assault weapon”. Don’t fall into the NRA trap of: “If you don’t know the terminology you can’t talk about gun law reform.” How many men who pass abortion laws can identify all of my internal organs?

The reason terminology is important is so everyone can be on the same page when discussing an issue. When anti-gunners want to ban "assault rifles"...well, legally, they're already banned. So it would help if they used the correct words so we knew what they were talking about.
