Curious if it’s Broward Sheriff’s Department policy for an inadequately armed officer to enter a building alone with an active shooter, or wait for back up? Respectfully, it seems to me that Deputy Peterson did the right thing here. #ParklandStrong

The cop should be charged with dereliction of duty. Or cowardice.

Every single person failed in this tragedy! The police, the FBI, the mental health counselor, the school security guard. How can we fix these failures that all could have and should have stopped this awful tragedy?!?

While I understand everyone looking for an easy answer, I wish people would take a moment to put themselves in another's shoes.1officer outside not knowing how many guns, afraid of killing a child and of course reputation for acting wrong all in 3.5 minutes..not sure what I'd do

Duh. There you have it, @realDonaldTrump . Guess "more guns" to solve the "too many guns" problem in the US is NOT the answer.

“... responding alone could be deadly.” Yeah, and responding unarmed - as Coach Feis did - could be deadly, but he did it anyway since children were in danger. Find another line of work, Peterson.

While he stayed safely outside with his weapon, helpless students and staff died, some while protecting others. This is so disturbing.

I'm not going to judge the resource officer. But I will judge the effectiveness of what Trump proposed today as wrong, and this is evidenced by the resource officers response.
