"The soft-body armor material can stop a bullet from these handguns but not from a rifle or an AR-15-style assault weapon . . . " Considering the AR-15 has been far & away the mass murderers' weapon of choice, it seems the answer is not very effective.

Far and away the choice of the last 4 or 5. Overall it's under 25%. Majority of mass shootings are with handguns.

You should read the article in The Atlantic about the difference in bodily damage between the AR-15 and most hand guns. People shot with hand guns apparently survive much more often than those shot with the AR-15.

I'm just stating the facts from mother Jones. Ar-15s are responsible for less than 3% of all gun deaths and are used less than 25% if the time in mass shootings. These are stats not opinion.

They are becoming the weapon of choice and can be bought at Walmart. No reason to continue to allow that. We have to wait for the percentages to get higher? With weapons that inflict much more damage than handguns as their bullets travel through the body?

Who would have thought that there would be such a thing as bulletproof backpacks? What a country!

Children shouldn’t have to have bulletproof backpacks.. what’s happening in our schools is outrageous and unacceptable!

Probably about as effective as several hard thick textbooks in your backpack that you won't be wearing while sitting in class...
