If the image of the Statue of Liberty is too offensive, political or controversial for these Games, just replace every flag with the Nike swoosh, @DanWolken writes.https://usat.ly/2Ci5zAY

"Stinking country" ? These are Olympic rules that every country has to abide by that has nothing to do with singling out the United States or anyone else it is what it is. If you don't like the rules - don't enter.

Rules???? Give me a break. If a symbol of freedom and the American flag offends you or anyone else, then YOU don't enter.

No you ignorant slut there are a lot of Olympic rules to what can be on the uniforms. It wasn't a liberal that didn't want it, all it was is that the Olympic committee was making sure it wasn't political propaganda which is banned on uniforms. Which it isn't, so they let it be.

(Not sure who the "ignorant slut comment was directed towards). I've been saying from the start that the #Olympics have rules intended to keep the games anti-political and strictly about the sport in which the athletes compete. That's a difficult concept for some.

@rtghouse Your explanation suited the reply far better than mine. I nvr thought your comment was coming at me, you seemed right on point.

They decided that it's fine for them to keep their helmets as is... Rules are rules so this didn't violate rules so all is good. It's actually better that they went through this process because then it solidifies the process. #TeamUSA #teamNigeria
