Seriously agree. The DA should press charges against her and they should forbid her (via court order) from owning another animal, at least for some period of time. This is insane. I feel like she is doing all this just to get attention. It is not ok.

“She’s only 21, a kid” Please. Even a seven year old knows not to murder animals. If one isn’t willing to protect their pet, they shouldn’t have the privilege of sharing their life with an animal. This story is disturbing.

No excuse for what she did. Whatsoever. Sociopathic. What a scary painful thing to go through, poor little thing.

I honestly cried after reading this article today. What a careless, heartless thing to do. That poor little thing trusted her, and she killed it. I would never do that to my rabbit, my cats or any hamsters I’ve ever had the joy to raise.

Such a sad awful story. She should be made an example of. Humans seem to think they are superior in every way as a species. Not that monster.

I fault the owner and she should be charged with animal cruelty. She drowned her own pet. Disgraceful and no excuse. I’m appalled. & someone let her get another pet. Ridiculous.

exactly. the airline even put her on a flight 9hrs later which gave her ample time to make arrangements with friends to care for her hamster or have a local rescue foster it while she was gone... or even surrender it to a pet shop. she’s vile ans should not be forgiven.
