A 15-year-old girl isn't criminally responsible for the shocking crime she committed as a mentally ill pre-teen, yet she could still get locked away for 40 years at a secure mental hospital.https://usat.ly/2E2khRL

First I should point out that mentally ill or not people should be held accountable for their actions. I'm just a little confused how law makers can attach an amount of time to how long it will take to resolve a mental problem in a hospital.

If she is dangerously mentally ill, then, yes, she does need to be kept securely away from society.

Yes @USATODAY she better get locked away to protect society and other children if we know for a fact she’s dangerous - she literally attempted to sacrifice her friend to what is basically a demon. Ummmmmm she doesn’t need to be around other people
