How about a requirement that a candidate has to pass a civics exam to be on the presidential ballot in Iowa?

One would be amazed at the number of people unknowingly give up their rights because of their ignorance of fundamental laws that protects them.

Well that’s not so bad, when I went to school in Illinois everyone had to pass the constitution test in order to graduate , a basic understanding of government and how it works as well as the constitution is a good thing . Good knowledge

Great. This needs to be national. Most Americans have no knowledge of the constitution and the extent of the pOTUS’ authority, including the pOTUS himself

When 4 out of 10 eligible voters do not participate in selecting leaders for this great country of ours, we need something to instill the basic understanding of your duties as a citizen of United States! Every eligible adult needs to help support and defend our great nation.

Good luck with that. It's highly doubtful folks these days even know the definition of "civics". Probably think it's a new emoji or game.
