Basic math...60 votes needed to pass budget in Senate. Republicans have 51 majority so 9 Dems have to cross party lines. #DemocratShutdown #GovtShutdown #NoDACADeal

How? Schumer isn't the one that stop funding CHIP and ended the DACA program. Republicans could've brought those up for a vote at literally any point and Dems woulda supported it. This is on Trump and Republicans willing to do his bidding.

What does DACA have to do with the budget?

It's CR and just a kicking of the can. Unfortunately the GOP that ended DACA cannot be assumed to have the good faith to re-issue it. Thus the necessity for it to happen now.

        Replying to @joetweets1987 @Desertdog6a and

Rs are using CHIP as a hostage for a CR, and Ds are using a CR hostage for both CHIP and DACA. Both issues created by Rs.

They need 60 votes in the Senate to pass the bill and so the Republicans needed some Democrat support. So consequently the Democrats voted for the shutdown. Schumer Shutdown lives on!
