Justin Timberlake has not publicly apologized to Janet Jackson for the incident that seemingly sent her career into a tailspin.https://usat.ly/2De0iM7

I doubt that’s what stalled her career.

She was literally blacklisted by MTV and the FCC afterward

By 2004 MTV was moving away from being a music-centric channel, and the FCC doesn’t blacklist people. They can harass people, like they did Howard Stern, but they can’t keep people off the air.

She was banned from radio. MTV was still a big part of music promotion for artists.pic.twitter.com/5NEcolxE0K

Even if the incident didn’t happen I think her career trajectory was headed down anyway. All For You sold 3,000,000 fewer albums than the Velvet Rope, and Damita Jo was always going to be a hard album to promote. Frankly, i think her music was becoming less and less appealing.

AFY had the highest first week sales of her career. She was in a good place. I found Damita Jo to be a way better and more cohesive album than All For You btw

Janet Jackson engineered that stunt to further her sagging career. It’s bullshit to expect JT to apologize or even to think he had anything to do with it!

“Sagging career” yet her previous album sold 600,000 copies the first week, produced 2 Hot 100 #1s, sold nearly 10 million copies WW and led to a headlining world tour... but your whiteness sees that “sagging” yet Justin literally was recoding leftover tracks from Michael Jackson

Justin Timberlake won't apologize he is symbolic of every instance when a white person & black person does the same thing the black person is always ostracized...no matter the circumstances!

Why apologize for a completely rehearsed act that unfortunately didn't have the acceptance that they were hoping for?

Janet Jackson has been working longer than Justin has been alive and just finished a tour. Why do y'all insist on these kids of headlines?
