The founders of New California took an early step toward statehood Monday with the reading of their own Declaration of Independence. They say their state is "ungovernable." https://usat.ly/2B4F4i2 pic.twitter.com/oHOfWHSTen

And they are being egged on by Russian propagandists who want to divide our country and long for another us civil war. Good times.

I am curious if the article is factual. If it is true, based on the map- these people clearly don't understand economics. Split the state, I don't care, but split it like that and new california won't have the earnings/income to do anything for itself. Good luck with that.

Article IV, Section 3, Clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution prohibits making new states from existing states without the consent of an affected state's legislature and the US Congress. Unilateral secession is unconstitutional according to the Supreme Court in Texas v. White (1869)

It can happen north and south Dakota split in 1889

That occurred when Dakota was a territory. In order for any new state to form, the California state legislature, dominated by Democrats, would have to agree. Congress would also have to agree. A group unilaterally seceding is unconstitutional.

Let the illegal aliens and Godless Communist-Democrats keep their major cities and the blue part of the coast and the American Patriots will take the rest. We'll see which state new businesses and working class conservatives will move to.
