There’s 5,000 ways to ask a women about family planning in a job interview... hint: and they’re all ILLEGAL.

No. It’s not. It’s how it is asked. Certain Jobs have a probationary period of employment. Those Jobs that have a 90 Day waiting period for Medical Coverage. Asking a Woman if she plans to get knocked up, not a good way to ask about family planning.

I guess I meant illegal in the decency sense... not statutory

Gotcha. As a Pilot for FedEx. We have to ask certain questions, as if a Pilot is New (Female or Male). Male Pilots come in during their probationary period, and announce their Wife is pregnant. We wait till at what time if they reach the benefit stage of their work.

Please explain to me how this is sexist? As a female, I do agree employment options are narrowed in certain fields however if the job is demanding for your lifestyle its appropriate for a employer to ask that question

First and foremost, it's illegal. Also illegal is firing a female employee because she is pregnant or plans to become pregnant.

It is not illegal. Not all employers are the same and secondly she was applying not hired. It is appropriate for them to know son they can evaluate other candidates if she has those plans...you aren't working for yourself you are working for a company and their demands

But that did not happen did it? She was asked this question during her hiring interview. Follow the facts do not suggest anything outside of them.

Do not get lost into the facts which are if a hiring manager wants to know what your future plans are, in order to find the best candidate for the position it is not sexist. It is looking at the best interest for the company not future employee.
