This is absolutely despicable! Cops across this nation kill an unarmed person and they get desk duty and a check. This man suffers after all of his time on the job AND his heroics and they fire him??? This is truly the upside down we’re living in...

How about they give him his desk job back for six months so he can collect the pension he earned for over nine years, including SAVING PEOPLE’S LIVES?? This is truly disgusting. #eatonville

So, he suffers from PTSD and they are letting him go. Pretty fucking shameful.

I wonder why he's filing for disability. Just because he can't be a cop anymore doesn't mean he can't do anything else.

Many folks who suffer from PTSD file for disability; also, it may be temporary until he can find another job ( training, interviewing; resume writing, etc... things he hasn’t done in years).

Should be more. Or let him run out his time until full retirement. Plus according to the article his pay is garbage.

I don’t understand why he responded to the Pulse call. Eatonville is minimum 8 miles and south of downtown Orlando. Orlando Police department is 2 miles away. Way outside his jurisdiction.

Oh, because he's a good person who responded quickly? Would you be checking first to make sure it's in your pwecious jurisdiction? You're a pitiful excuse of a human being, harry.

PTSD is no joke. Just Bc you’re a cop doesn’t mean you’re immune to human behavior after encountering trauma you will never ever unsee. I wish him a journey where he can continue to be a hero. Like a hero to ex military/ officers ect.
