Trump's lawyers mount a new defense: A president can't obstruct justice. Is that true?https://usat.ly/2AOkh6a

Next thing Trump’s attorneys will tell us is that the president can’t rape and pillage. The president can’t lie. The president can’t murder? What’s next?

True or not, do we really want a president who obstructs justice?

Re: Nixon. He tried to say the same. Trump must be pretty close to being caught if his lawyers are using this logic. Case law proves them wrong.

No False heres why: By summer 1974, the House Judiciary Committee approved three articles of impeachment against Nixon (obstruction of justice, abuse of power, and contempt of Congress), and he resigned to preempt what seemed a near-certain impeachment.

Specious argument. Didn't work for Nixon. Represents a sea change in approach to defense. Sounds more like: Yeah he did it, but Trump is above the law.

Trump has been good at revealing just how much power a POTUS has... I hope when his ass gets kicked in 2020, his replacement will limit those powers. Our democracy shouldn't be threatened by just one man. POTUS should not be above the law.

No it’s stupid. All previously impeached presidents have had obstruction charges brought against them because it’s illegal. You’re not above the law because you’re the president, you’re supposed to be the chief enforcer. Doesn’t mean you make it up..literally what Congress is for

No. Sorry dude. Clinton was impeached on Obstruction of Justice. Nixon was about to but resigned before Congress issued it. Sounds like ur answer was more wish than research. No citizen is above the law. Not even Trump.

You work for Mueller? It probably isn’t on its own. But it could be if part of larger or a link to other events which there is speculation there is more. Evidenced by the light charge to Flynn given the many other things he has been reported doing.
