I’m a 20 year Coast Guard Vet and this article is bullshit. We capture drug runners with massive amounts of drugs. We get them import as fast as we can. They are not abused and have shelter. If in elements it’s because it’s HOT.

Oh and one final word (man I’m pissed)....we don’t know what these people did before we caught them. Are they murderers? Nice family men? How can we tell? Everyone gives a sob story. We need to shackle them. We can’t have them walk around our boats. Our safety.Their inconvenience

And last tweet on my rant. I think 99% of American’s don’t care if these “fisherman” were poor so they decided to run drugs. Zero empathy. Sorry. 10 yrs is a good sentence though.

Wait...are we suppose to have compassion for people who smuggle drugs into our country adding to the epidemic of drug addiction and deaths plus the violence that it spawns....my choice would be to turn them into fish food and leave it at that....#LiberalismIsAMentalDisorder

And they eat every meal. A lot. A lot more than at home OR on their drug boats that...by the way...have drugs that destroy families. Man I’m pissed. Make us look like shit and we are the GOOD GUYS.

And these guys are dead to rights, caught carrying so much drugs. And again, they are treated very, very well.

I’m way liberal and articles like this make me understand conservatives. Defending people who destroy lives! I won’t buy your paper ever again.

I’ve been on MANY patrols and we want them off the cutter asap BUT we are sometimes way out at sea. And we wait for other agencies to assist.

What hellish conditions doth dwell down there below, matey, neath the galley of this Floating Prison. The wrangling cries and curses of the doomed, perishing in their own stink and excretement and destined to be buried at sea for their crime. Ahoy Ahoy, let us sail on and perish!

The article does not support the headline. While it isn’t #fakenews, it is most certainly #falsenews.
