Stand up for your country don't become like Britain
where English is now a second language -
Only in the USA is it BAD to be multilingual. The rest of the world encourages learning different languages.
-
When English is a second language in your own country then come talk to me , London England you can walk down the street and not hear an English word spoken. Do you want the same in the USA
? -
Personally I think it’s amazing to hear different languages being spoken. Further more what business is it of mine what language others are speaking as their are walking down the street.

This is wrong. It's not about being PC; it's about having manners and being kind.

This woman’s grandparents were probably exactly the same, in that they likely spoke their native tongue when they came here. My mom didn’t speak English until she was 3-4 and her grandmother only spoke German. Sorta typical of all immigrants over the years. Blatant racism here

It’s actually not. You can use a translator who reads the questions to you.
-
Not true! You must be able to pass the test in English!
-
If you are 50 or older you are exempt from the English requirement.
-
75 year old Father in law took test no one allowed in the room except the person giving interview and test. Same with Mother in law
-
Not necessarily, there are many older people here who’s families own bakeries, restaurants, tailor and seamstress shops and the don’t stray from their cultural communities. They normally are very close families and the younger generations all are bi-lingual.
-
Most of my Asian older clients can speak English even the ones that are very limited they can understand but speaking is poor
-
As I’m sure is the case for many other ethnic groups. Learning one language for some is difficult, many Americans born here can’t read or write English and that doesn’t make them less of an American. Learning two languages for some is just impossible.
