I'm not a woman and therefore I'll never get but I'll never understand waiting years after a transgression before speaking out. No matter how much it's explained to me. Maybe it's not meant for me to understand.

We aren't alone. There is strength in numbers. I was lucky. My attackers confessed. I didn't have to worry about reporting it. They were literally caught in the act and taken into custody and confessed. That's rare.
-
Great, but my point is that it's more likely that these people will be punished if it's reported soon after it happens. Waiting years for whatever reason doesn't seem like it helps anything. Maybe some people need time to get over the initial shock before they can talk about it.
-
Some women do need years to be able to even admit it to themselves much less repeat what happened out loud. For me it wasn't about punishment. I'm pretty sure my attack was just swept under the rug. I was in training in the Army in 1995. It was a different world back then.
-
What is there to admit to oneself? It should be about punishment. People shouldn't be allow to behave this way and then walk away. If there are no consequences for a person's action then what's to stop that person from repeating those actions?
-
Part of the problem is that these low-lifes continue the abuse because they know that they can get away with it.
-
Because they are in power. The women are told they'll lose their jobs if they cause problems by reporting. At least that's what I think. There is strength in numbers and I believe that's why we are speaking out about it now. Even if these men can't be punished now at least...
-
We are making it known now.

So why is it OK for drew Barrymore to flash her boobs to David Letterman on his show? Isn't that sexual harassment too? If the actresses are claiming it they why dot the men too. Fair is fair.

I think some men have a hard time understanding because when you put yourself in someone else's shoes you tend to look at the situation from your own point of view instead of that person........
-
As men we believe that if somebody mistreat us they're not going to get away with it. Do women not feel that way?
