Gov. Scott Walker signed a measure to allow children younger than 10 to hunt if they are accompanied by an adult mentor who stays within arm's length of their charge.https://usat.ly/2zD4AO6

I (single mom) taught my son to handle a gun at five. He had a bb gun, and @ 8 a 22 single shot. By 12 he had a 12guage. Now @ 16 he feeds us. Helps fill the freezer yearly.

😊 thanx. I did it because I had safety concerns for us, then as it turned out, he now saves me money on groceries 😆😆😆

My condolences in advance for the murdered, oh I mean accidentally shot, innocent wanderer. And will the Summons and Complaint name the supervising adult as the lead defendant?

Let young kids drive too. I mean if we're an arm's distance away ... what could happen?!?

I did that too. You don't realize what farm youth learn to do at an early age. I could handle manual transmission vehicles and farm equipment with ease. Nothing happened.

I was shooting by 6 or 7 and driving at 10. My mom told me farm kids were smarter than city kids

Yes and in a lot of respects that was true. Another way we differed was the amount of real work, hard manual work we did. Like picking up large rocks out of fields and pounding steel fence posts into the ground.

Love this idea. Can't believe it took so long to have this signed into law. Will they be able to use AK-47's or is that another future law? #watchoutBambi

Just want 2 make sure I understand this: the child under 10 can fire a weapon? Imagine the kid who isn't with a parent and decides to hunt on his/her own (kids do disobey, especially with friends). Yipes. #gunsense #children #weapons #youth
