        3. A mentally unstable Soldier is a threat to National Security. We cannot afford to have another former Soldier commit another act of mass casualties, we’ve had ENOUGH! In addition, the VA system is already broken, we sure don’t need to be adding to those numbers. END

Jesus Christ. Yeah, let's train mentally unwell people to become professional killers. Plunging them into a warzone will sort them right out......

        2. Even if they make it out of basic training there is always the possibility of deploying. How do you deploy a Soldier with mental health issues? Do you know how a Soldier responds on the battlefield, the toll that a deployment has on your mental health?

Suicide is already an issue among fresh recruits during basic, they make a big deal about this among drill sergeants and recruits. Imagine how BAD this could become with mentally unstable/depressive folks and people with suicidal tendencies in the army ranks!

Exactly, we already know how to weed out those who aren't going to adjust to the military but now you want to further compound the situation by adding civilians with mental health issues. We aren't hurting for Soldiers and if we are we need to figure out another way to recruit.

Army to give guns to people with potentially suicidal thoughts, people off their faces on crack & people who may go on a shooting spree if they aren't vetted properly.
