Staaaappp with the stupidity. Automatic weapons are federally regulated. State law does not replace. It is "legal" to own a pre-86 weapon only after extensive background checks and very steep prices. Stop spreading nonsense.

After reading the article, it seems they're referring to any additional state laws beyond NFA. Some states have banned NFA weapons.

Perhaps so...but the headline is misleading (which we all know is what people read).

Since you are showing a picture of a pistol talking about machine guns: Machine guns are typically belt fed and have been banned since '86

Which still would have put the shooter at 33 years old when the ban went into effect, and seeing as how even what weapons were used is still speculation, it’s still within the realm of possibility that the firearm was not a recent purchase

His own brother said he wasn't a gun guy and it was a shock. That would mean that it is unlikely he had a machine gun for the last 33 years

Hey, I’m all for gun rights, don’t get me wrong... but it seems funny to me that someone who “wasn’t a gun guy” would have an excess of 10 in his immediate possession and more at his home.

Why are you all for gun rights, may I ask?

Because it is something I believe in. I believe that responsibly executing the rights awarded to me by the second amendment protect me, because while I may be a law abiding citizen not everyone else is law abiding.

If the USA removed the right for anyone to bear arms though, would your protection then not be in jeopardy.

The second amendment was left to us by our Founders as an emergency reset button in case the government ever became tyrannical.

State laws must comply with federal regulations… thus this article is extremely misleading. US News = click bate.

Not true. Nevada law prohibits possession or use of machine guns or silencers, unless authorized under federal law.
