He made the right decision. The photos of submerged cars could have been multiplied by thousands, one breakdown stalls traffic.

Ppl had 24+ hours to get out before the storm hit. Had Turner heeded the warnings, he would have issued an evacuation order. He was wrong.

Spoken like someone who doesn't understand Houston or Texas roadways. 24 hours is not enough time to evacuate millions. Not even close.

That's an incorrect assumption and a rotten defense for a horrible (lack of) judgement call.

There are 2 highways outta Houston going west away from the coast. Both are flooded. Neither I-10 or 290 could cope w/evacuating 6.5M.

Those are flooded NOW; they were not flooded on Thursday, when the evacuations should have been going on.

Despite assurances from the current government, FEMA is not prepared. The Mayor saved lives by people not being stuck on highways.

In a normal commute one accident, flat or run out of gas can cause delays. How many people live in Houston? How many cars?

No doubt about that.. but they had 36 hours, they could've evacuated those in danger zones. Look like paved canals 😱.
