I don't know many folks who supported gay marriage in the 50's and 60's. It wasn't a topic of discussion - back then.

The war was about slavery. The statues were erected for Jim Crow & an FU to the civil rights movement. No succession=no need to defend.

The statue pictured is in Franklin, TN. The state law doesn't protect it b/c it's not on public land.
