How can it be 'far fewer' (then previously) if a ban goes into effect? Sounds like FAKE news. Or common core math.

Because the previous ban blocked ALL travelers from those countries, while this ban allows green card, visa holders and others to enter US.

What previous ban? The 9th court stopped it before it started. The Supreme court ruled 90% of it Constitutional and to start taking effect.

The 1st travel ban was in effect for 7 days at the end of January. That's what we're comparing this revised version to.
