Even when this system works you still get a nuke explosion - just in the sky not on the ground. Still better than a direct hit, I guess.

It is exoatmospheric which means it hits target outside of our atmosphere and the fallout doesn't reach us. That is the point of the system.

I would HATE to test that theory.

        It is not a theory.

So they have actually detonated warheads up there to test it?

That is NTK. You should be more worried about the testing that is done in the oceans. The stuff that actually affects you.

Fukushima shows that, but since back with Nike Hercules we still have only a theory that missiles will "safely" detonate nuclear warheads.

You r confusing this w/ missiles w/in atmosphere. The effects of the sun is a proof of exoatmospheric radiation blocking capabilities.

How much of NK gnp os tied up in each missle it makes and fires? NK would rather fire missles than feed its people.

Can't say this is a bad thing, necessarily. Just wish our leaders were doing less to provoke the need for this defense system in the future.

Now every nation may begin to test ICBMs. #SaudiArabia & #Iran may begin to test next. However, US will have to supply the Saudis first.
