If police treat criminals this badly, they get investigated. This man had done absolutely nothing wrong. There should be criminal charges.

What a disgusting display of arrogant force. I bet United settles this problem by throwing money and giving no comment. Boycott United!

How in the hell with the technology we have is a flight ever overbooked? Employees have preference over a paying customer? Get a good lawyer

Annoyed w/ the story. He was asked multiple times by Airline EEs & Police 2 exit the plane but refused. Result: he gets REMOVED. Life lesson
-
Operative word is "asked" & he said no. Kinda like at a drive-thru. "Can you please move up, we'll bring you your food". "No". End of story.
-
Right.. so park your car - block the drive-thru for 90 minutes. Let them call the cops and see who gets "moved".
-
The passenger paid for his seat and UA didn't have any issue taking his money. Is it ok to take one's money and refused to provide service?
-
They offered refund + $800. @ some point the BUSINESS has a right 2 NOT PROVIDE A SERVICE and return a customer's money.
-
I agree if the customer did something wrong. But he did not do anything wrong. UA refused service because they are greedy & oversold seats.
-
Weather issues, Mechanical failures, Bomb threats - many reasons 4 travelers 2 be inconvenienced. Over-booked is LEGAL. Sorry it happens
