many airlines are like this, I ride on my moms pass and I have to wear nice clothes, no leggings. You are representing the company

what is the difference? They're inappropriate on pass riders, but fine if you're a paying passenger? Huh?

the difference is pass riders are employees who agree to whatever rules UA puts out to travel for free

Absolutely. Every pass rider knows to dress business casual. This is a non-story & major airlines all do this

If you're flying for free in 1st Class, you don't wear t-shirts or act inappropriately around paying flyers.

I was a flight attendant for @united for 10 years. Yes, a strict dress code is company policy for pass travelers. #UnitedAirlines

while I'm not a fan of the rule, I have to abide by it when flying American also. Passes require a dress code. And have for years.

The flyers were expected to adhere to a dress code all employees follow. All airlines do this & they fly free.
