YAY! It's not the federal government's job to provide a mortgage discount! What's the matter with you people?
-
Actually, government policy is why 30-yr mortgages are available in the first place. Read up on FHA/New Deal.
-
Ah, the New Deal. Trust me, I know what that has wrought. I'm a great-grandmother. Love that govt debt.
-
Not my point. You said Feds have no business in mortgages. That shows fundamental misunderstanding abt financial markets.
-
I won't argue with that. What I will argue is the role that govt should play in them. They've overstepped for at least 100 yrs
-
Ummm, at what point does something stop being "that's not the way it should be" become "that's how it is"?
-
Umm, when politicians say so I guess. I remember the New Deal quite well. It finally caught up during GW term.

@TheDemocrats Another fact spin, I suspect if I can afford a $200,000 mortgage I can afford another $29/mo. -
do you take the home mortgage interest credit? Time to repeal that
-
I don't take anything, I got out and went to work and paid my way as I went. Dept free.
-
so you don't file taxes or own a house. Otherwise you are lying
-
Yep, file taxes every year, own home, two cars, 5 computers, 4 TV's, etc - all paid for by working.
-

-
That is my business, point is time for people to do same thing I did and work and earn what they need.
-
