After a heated exchange with an umpire, Serena Williams then went to defend opponent Naomi Osaka against the crowd's booing.https://usat.ly/2wTQi9E

So back in the day when John McEnroe threw tantrums on the court, no one batted an eye. I think Serena made her case on the court as she should have. Anyone who says her complaint was unfitting is wrong. Glad she was verbal about it. No we women arent going to just shut up.

Why she mad at umpire? She should’ve been yelling at her coach, who admitted cheating...lol

I was there, the crowd was NOT booing Naomi, they were booing the now infamous Carlos Ramos and the spineless USTA. #UsOpenFinal #NaomiOsaka

And it was more than one heated exchange. Too bad @serenawilliams ruined this special moment for @Naomi_Osaka_ 's first grand slam win.

It was crazy. She knew she was going to lose. She did get screwed by ump. And took full advantage of it. Osaka dominated from the start.

I thought the crowd was booing the line judge and the call. Serena knows the rules- she’d have been fine had she not smashed her racquet, that’s when the score was affected and she lost it. Wish it was a happier win for sweet Naomi! What a great and humble player!

The crowd wouldn't have been booing if Serena hadn't portrayed herself as a victim. Serena is the greatest tennis player of all time, but she could have diffused things sooner. JMO.

She acted like a child. She didn’t defend her, she regretted taking a literal shit on her opponents clean & clear victory. She qas BESTED by far, and showed that she is a terrible loser. Congratulations to the only person worth mentioning, Osaka. Rip serena
