        We plan to equip our son with a phone that can only talk and text, for emergencies. No smartphone. It will be ugly and outdated and he will be too embarrassed to get it out in class. Lol.

        No they are there to learn not for social media. Many kids survived over the years without a cell phone in school.

        Yes. But it should be used to talk to the parents. Let them play with it and talk to their friends at home. It also could be used to look up information if it was a smart phone

        They should have them in case of an emergency only!!! If they catch a student using it for something other than that take it and return it at the end of the day.

        The only devices that should be allowed should be phone only, no internet, no games, no social media, etc. These are not necessary in the class.
