Or - 44% of Republicans don't believe in the foundation of the United States and instead want a king. Or - 44% of Republicans are unAmerican.

If Gallup is to be trusted, only 26% of Americans identify as Republican, which makes this statistic far less interesting, as 11.4% of this country will believe just about anythinghttps://news.gallup.com/poll/15370/party-affiliation.aspx …

So 44% of Republicans don’t believe in the first amendment. They’d rather have guns than free speech.

Probably the same 44% that think treason is cool.http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/399783-poll-some-republicans-approve-of-russias-help-in-elections?amp&__twitter_impression=true …

And if there was a president who was a Democrat, I would bet you that none of these Republicans would hold this same view while most Democrats would continue supporting the press. Nation above party should be our rallying cry to all who seek office.

Freedom of speech is the oldest of all the Western Civilization Common Laws going back to at least Homer and is why it’s #1 on our Bill of Rights.

Trumpers, Conservatives, and Progressives appear to be Puritans of a sort. Each group has that haunting fear that someone, somewhere might be saying or doing something (legal) they don't like.

Wonder if those 44% are confusing what private non government actors (FB, IG, YT) can legally do (ban users who violate their terms) and what the constitution’s 1A guarantees government actors like Trump (absolutely no matter what) can NOT do (like banning press).
